I’ve been wanting a pair of these for about a year now. I just couldn’t bring myself to pay full price. Frugality is my vice. I got a pair in Cognac on sale for $30 and was happy with that. I saw these lovelies today at jackthreads.com for $33 and jumped on them. Patience is my virtue.
This is the 3rd item I’ve made. 2 inch black stewart tartan tie 100% worsted wool square bottom. When I finished the tie, I remembered that tartan ties are usually cut at an angle. I thought it might look kind of weird, but I tried it on and I’m ok with it. I still have a bunch of this material and the camel hair left. A yard goes a long way.
I made a scarf with this same material. I’m not sure if I’ll ever wear them together. Too much?
Next on my list, I want to make a proper tie, i.e. triangular tipped. Besides that, I want to make some pocket squares, then I think that’s really it for the simple stuff. Pants and shirts are next. So, what do you think of the tie?
This is the 2nd beat I produced for the 1977 CD. They picked the other beat over this one, but I personally like this one better. I sampled “Nobody Does It Better” by Carly Simon. I chopped up and speed up the piano and vocals. For drums, I used a beatbox kit. I was going for a MF Doom kind of feel with the track. I’m not super happy with the bass, but haven’t gone back to fix it. Anyway enjoy. Comments/criticism always welcome. ?
