Q:I just have to ask, seeing as how most teachers are severely lacking in the style department, do you find yourself felling "out of place" when you show up for work? To attempt an analogy, it's gotta feel weird pulling up in an Aston Martin in a parking lot full of Kias.

Not at all.  I like my co-workers and I believe that they like me.  We’re beyond the point of judging each other based on clothing.  We’re not the students.  They accept the fact that I like wearing a shirt and tie everyday.  They don’t think I’m better than them.  It’s just something I like.

I also feel that every teacher that works his/her hardest to drive his/her students to greatness is an Aston Martin.  Tie or no tie.

Also, I work in NYC.  Teachers here do have style.  Not all of them, but the great majority of them look pretty fantastic.

Acute Style

Avatar Style for those who aren't right or obtuse.
A math teacher documents his attempt to acquire an acute sense of style with items that cost less than $90...without looking obtuse.
