This Just In: Orvis Tartan Fun Shirt

You may have noticed that I like fun shirts. I’ve been wanting a tartan fun shirt for a while. I missed the J. Press flannel one and got a PRL plaid fun shirt a month back. I saw this one over at Orvis, but was concerned about their sizing. This is a small and it was huge when I first got it. It fit well in the shoulders and the sleeve length was right, but the body, sleeves and neck were too big. I had my tailor work on it and I’m pretty pleased with the results. I’m considering removing the pocket. I think it’s disproportionally big now that I’ve slimmed it down. We’ll see.

I saw this yesterday in person. It’s pretty epic. I imagine I’d have to have the small tailored to fit me and it’s already $100. Decisions. Epic decisions.

These pants have an old man rise, but I’m ok with it. I was just complaining to someone that the rise on the Brooks Brothers Milanos could be longer. I’ll probably have these tapered a bit, but I’m happy to finally have a pair of moleskin pants. I’ve been trying to get a pair since last fall. Score.
