Lands End Canvas: Navy Seersucker
Everybody was flipping out last summer over the black seersucker suit by LL Bean Signature. I appreciate them changing it up a bit, but black seersucker just wasn’t cutting it for me. Mainly because I don’t wear black, but also because black absorbs every frequency of light making black fabric warmer than lighter colors. There’s a reason light colors are recommended in the summer. Lands End Canvas is at it again with this dark navy seersucker, but given my romance with navy blue, I can’t be mad at them. I might cop all of this. The pants are on the way.
Stuff I Bought This Week: Bow Ties, Accessories, and Pants
The Tie Bar: Slim Bow, Butterfly Bow, Diamond Point Bow
The Knottery: Navy Nato, Lapel Flower, Leather Nato
Lands End Canvas: Seersucker, Madras
I’m trying to find a bow tie shape that’s right for my face. I got three different shapes form the Tie Bar: slim, diamond tip, and classic butterfly. One of the three should work.
I ordered the mustard yellow lapel flower from the Knottery and I find that it just doesn’t work with my attire. This bright yellow one should do the trick. I’ve been wanting a leather Nato strap for a while. J. Crew had one, but I decided to hold out and support the locals. The navy Nato is just a simple standard. I can’t go hard all the time.
Lands End Canvas is having a sale. Big up to This Fits for pointing it out. 2 pairs of pants for $40. Had too. Navy seersucker and Madras. Like Jordan in the early nineties. Nothing but net.
Lands End Canvas: Madras Matchery
I love how Lands End Canvas has been making so many different items in the same pattern. This is perfect for people like me who like to be a little matchy. What am I talking about. This is just good for me and no one else. Would do.
This Fits: I see your jacket and pants and raise you a bow tie.
This Just In: Uniqlo Wool Pants
$20 @ Uniqlo
Most people say that a nice pair of grey pants is the cornerstone of their wardrobe. I’d say navy blue pants myself. I decided to finally get a pair of greys and picked these up at Uniqlo for a great price. They’re an older model that Uniqlo is trying to get rid of at the moment. I like them a lot. Great light weight, texture, and drape. I love the tab waist too. The leg opening was 8” before I had them tapered to 7.5”. Uniqlo offers free hemming, but I think they hemmed these a bit too short, and I like my pants short. I might lengthen them a bit later.
Lands End Canvas New Arrivals: Shorts and Pants
Uniqlo Perfect Shape Chinos ($40)
These look legit for $40. I have to hit up Uniqlo this week for real, for real. Ready for Spring.
Bonobos 100% Cotton Oxford Pants
I don’t have any experience with Bonobos pants, but these just seem like a great idea. Pastels. Ready for Spring.

We’ve been over this before. Navy blue is my favorite color. After my wife made the comment that I wear it everyday, I thought about not wearing it for a week. I decided against that and chose to get a little thematic instead. Thus Blue Pant Week begun. I could probably do a blue sport coat/jacket week and a blue tie month if I wanted. Well maybe not a month, but definitely more than a week. Anyway, stay tuned for more navy adventures.
