06.11.13 Last Day of Teaching Thrifted Banana Republic Cotton/Linen Tan/Cream Bengal Stripe Sport Coat.  Three button, surgeon cuffs, double vented, fully lined (half cotton/half silk?), no shoulder pads.  I got this for $12 bucks.  One shoulder pad was missing and the lining was torn.  My tailor fixed those two issues.  I also had the sleeves shortened.  It was the first time I shortened sleeves with surgeon cuffs.  I’m not crazy about how it looks.  I won’t do that again.  I also had the waist taken in as well.  Even though it is cotton.  It wears a bit warm.  The jacket is often mistaken for seersucker, but it’s not.  It’s a flat bengal stripe.   See more of my sport coats.

This Just In: Polo Ralph Lauren Patchwork Madras Sport Coat $110 @ eBay This was over my $90 per item budget, but I’ve been looking for one of these for a long time with little success.  I found a similar J. Crew model, but it just didn’t really fit the bill.  It’s brand new with tags, the pockets and vent is still sewn up.  It’s a little tight across the back/armhole/biceps.  It’s not super uncomfortable or anything, but I wish it fit better given its price.  Anyway, I’m glad I finally pulled the trigger.

06.01.13 Prime Via Di Medici, 100% linen, triple patch pocket, single vent, no shoulder pads, only sleeve lining, working cuffs, high button stance.   I got this from Daffy’s after my trip to Spain a few years ago.  I saw it before I left and was on the fence about it.  I went back before I left and couldn’t find it.  When I got back from Spain I found it and scooped it up immediately.  This is my favorite summer jacket.  It wrinkles at the drop of a dime in a great way.  RIP, Daffy’s.     See more of my sport coats.

Uniqlo flannel 3 button, single vent, full lining, no shoulder padding.  I wish the shoulders were lightly padded, the shoulders were wider, the sleeves were a little longer, the jacket was a little longer, and the button stance was a little lower.  That being said, I still really like the jacket.  It’s my go to jacket in cold weather.  Can’t go wrong with navy blue.

Uniqlo linen patch pocket sport coat.  Same details as my navy blue one.  This jacket has a balance issue around the waist and hip.  The jacket is lopsided.  The left front panel should come across the front more.  The waist and hips should probably be taken in some as well, but I like the roominess it offers when it’s warm and I don’t want to get alterations on a cheap Uniqlo jacket.
