This Just In: Herringbone Tweed Double Breasted Overcoat
$60 @ Maybe I’ll tell you later.
About 10 months ago, I came across a PRL overcoat. I was pretty happy with it given the price, but understood that it needed some work. I paid a pretty penny getting it fixed. I had the sleeves lengthened and let out, the waist let out and the shoulder taken in some. I’m ok with the end result, but the sleeves are still shorter than I would like.
I found this beauty yesterday and the fit is almost perfect. I tried it on over a few sport coats and there’s plenty of room. The sleeves could be a tad bit longer and the waist could be let out a touch, but I’m not sure that I care that much to get them fixed. There are no tags or labels other than fabric content and size: 100% pure new wool and 38. Merry Christmas to me.
This Just In: Polo Navy Striped Grenadine Tie
$10 @ eBay
I saw this on auction on eBay for $10. I emailed the seller to ask if he would sell it to me directly. I asked him to name his price and he asked for $10. Who am I to argue with him?
$250 @ Polo.com (On Sale with extra 10% off code (CSS1802))
The only boots I own are a pair of Bean Boots. I’ve been looking for a pair of boots for the fall/winter and think these will fit the bill. The top pair has a leather sole. I’m not sure if it will be ideal for foul weather. I’m considering having the sole replaced. The bottom pair is a bit more rugged and has a rubber sole. These should work well when the weather gets bad.
I usually don’t like spending more than $90 for any given item, but I rarely find good shoe and outerwear deals for under that price. I’m not sure if I’ll keep both pairs. The second pair may be too chunky for my liking. We’ll see in 5-7 days.
This Just In: JC Penney’s Tartan Fun Shirt
$20 @ JC Penney’s
The collar was a bit wonky. I had to have my tailor move the buttons. It’s still not the best, but it’ll do. Also the sleeves are attached to the body at an angle. It affects the tightness at the armpits when I move my arms up and down. Not a deal breaker, but interesting pattern choice. Love the tartan. Love the fun. Love the price. No brainer.
