This Just In: Knit and Grenadine Ties Left to Right: Brooks Brothers ($18 @ eBay), Brooks Brothers ($18 @ eBay), the Tie Bar ($15 @ the Tie Bar), Polo ($60 @ the Silentist Sale), the Tie Bar ($15 @ the Tie Bar) I got the two BB ties today and figured I’d mentioned these other ones as well.  The BBs are both 3.25” wide.  My favorite width.  The TBs are 2.75”.  The Polo is 3.5”.   In terms of knits, the BBs are exceptional.  The navy TB is outstanding for $15.  The green TB is tolerable, fairly flimsy.  The navy TB is much crunchier and has much more of a presence than the green one.  Quite odd considering they’re from the same company and cost the same.   The Polo tie is amazing.  It’s in one of my favorite patterns and textures: Argyle and Sutherland Highlander and grenadine.  I saw this at Polo for much more than what I paid and was highly, highly tempted nonetheless.  Kiyoshi came through with the score and the rest is history.

The Knottery Navy and Orange Knit Ties

I was initially thinking about getting the Black Watch and Camel ties from the Knottery’s new arrivals.  After some consideration, I figured this would not be best.  I have a camel knit tie that I rarely wear and three Black Watch ties.  I think it’s more important to land a much needed staple i.e. the navy knit tie.  It’s hard to pass up at this price.  I’m thinking about getting the orange knit too.  It’s so beautifully bright.  Plus, I can wear it while I’m hunting pheasant.
