This Just In: Polo Ralph Lauren Tweed Windowpane Overcoat
$50 @ eBay
So this came the other day. Not a bad fit out of the box, but a few issues. The sleeves need to be lengthened and taken out. They’re a bit tight in the forearm also. There is 2” of material in the sleeves. I may need to use all of it. I tried this on with a sport coat and it was a bit snug in the chest. It fits great in the chest without a sport coat though. I’ll probably have that let out some too. I’m not sure what’s going on with the right shoulder, but the left shoulder looks fine. Off to the tailor next week.
This Just Copped: Polo Ralph Lauren Tweed Overcoat

I often find great items on eBay with low starting auction prices. Inevitably, other people find out about them and drive the prices up to unreasonable levels. If this doesn’t happen, you can walk away with some great deals. It usually does though. Enter Buy It Now. If you find it first, it’s yours at that fixed price. Given my consistence on eBay, this is my preferred method of purchase. I don’t have to sit around waiting for an auction to end, hoping I’ll be the highest bidder. Just in and out. This coat was posted today and I found it about an hour after it went up. Copped.
I’ve been looking for an overcoat for some time now. I’ll need to lengthen the sleeves, but this should fit me well. More in a few weeks.
This Just In: Polo Ralph Lauren Herringbone Tweed Vest
$50 @ eBay
Not even gonna lie. Jeremy over at Uncle Beebo was the inspiration for this purchase. He rocks a vest on the regular and of all of his vest, his herringbone tweed joint is my favorite. I’ve been hunting for one of these since I ran across his blog a few years ago. The top button was missing when I got it, but there is a spare sewn on the back.
Tweed 3/2 roll, Corduroy 3/2 roll with patch pockets, Flannel, Velvet with peak lapels
I tried on the flannel and velvet sport coats the last time I was there. The flannel has a great weight to it and fits great. It is also constructed better than most of the jackets at Uniqlo hence the price tag. The velvet is a slim fit which I’m between sizes on. I found the super high button stance with the peak lapels to be a bit too much for me. I think it really elongates the body. I really want to get down to Uniqlo to check out the tweed and corduroy numbers. Those look like winners.
