Polo Ralph Lauren Floral and Paisley S/S ‘13
Waiting for spring.
This Just In: Burgundy Paisley Pocket Square (Unbranded)
$5 @ Reminessence
I’ve been looking for some pocket squares in nice fall colors/patterns. I’m pretty good with summer/spring squares. This one will do nicely for the fall. I’m still on the look out for one in olive and also one in solid navy wool to replace the one I made. It was my go to this winter. I should go ahead and get a proper one.
Polo Neat/Paisley Ties in Action
This Just In: Polo Ralph Lauren Sueded Silk Paisley Ties (Handmade in Italy)
$25 each @ Century 21 ($125 retail)
I like having fun when I dress up. Every now and then, I want something a bit more serious, but that still has style. These ties do it for me. Neat print on top with a wide paisley border into a solid on warm fall colors. So classy. These say grownup style to me, but I match my socks and my ties so don’t trust my opinion.
Plus, ok. I have to admit. This was a bit of an impulse buy. I was on my way to meet my wife and ran into these. The sueded silk fabric just had such a nice hand and weight to it that I just couldn’t resist. I didn’t want to come back later and find them gone.
In general, Century 21 stays having quality $25 Polo ties. I picked up two 100% cashmere knit ties for $17 a piece from them this fall. If you don’t have time to thrift and don’t trust eBay, Century 21 is a good place to go for cheap quality ties.
WIWT - Pattern mixing. I thought I would end this work week with a little flair since I had meetings schedule throughout the day. When you mix patterns effectively, it helps to bring attention to you, in a good way. Therefore, I went with an navy blazer with faint pinstripes, an orange gingham shirt, solid navy tie, paisley PS, white chinos, and tassel loafers.
