It’s that time of year gain i.e. summer, when companies start releasing fall/winter collections. It was a long cold winter and I couldn’t wait for it to be over. It hasn’t even gotten that hot yet, but I’m already ready for winter again. I should make up my mind.
Jackets are looking short again with narrow lapels. I hope this trend ends soon.
I posted about this Uniqlo poly-cotton blend polo a few weeks ago. Uniqlo just dropped this similar 100% cotton model. This one doesn’t have a pocket and has an applied placket, but it does have the same spread collar. I bought the poly blend one in navy, but didn’t like the color. I ordered the poly-cotton and 100% cotton in white yesterday. I’ll see which one I like the most. Still considering the Kent Wang though.
I’ve been on vacation for a week or so. I came back to find that Uniqlo and Michael Bastian have dropped round two of their collaboration. These are my favorites from the bunch. I still can’t believe they’re only $23.
It’s no secret that I love fun shirts. The one on the top left is on its way to me as we speak. I feel the navy collar and cuffs are a nice contrast whereas the white collar and cuffs wash the shirt out. The middle two look like baseball jerseys in a very good way (Yankee’s pinstripe?). The chambray collars on the bottom two are a great touch.
I still haven’t worn my shirt from the first drop. It’s getting warmer so I’ll have to rectify that soon.
I’ve been eyeing the Kent Wang polo shirt for years. I think they’re a great deal at $65 considering PRL's go for $85. The Kent Want shirt has a lovely spread collar that is constructed like a woven shirt i.e. with two layers of fabric and a collar band. The mother of pearl buttons and heavy pique fabric scream quality. I was thinking of picking up a few this summer, but here comes Uniqlo. The Uniqlo shirts are a light weight cotton/poly blend, but they has a similar three button placket and cutaway, woven shirt collar as the Kent Wangs. They are no where near the KW quality, but at $20 I think it's worth a shot. Will cop.
