Rose & Born double monks
Double monks may be a bit played out, but these are just breathtaking.
I recently came across a few companies selling made-to-order shoes through a company called Bespoke Factory.
The shoes are Goodyear welted and start at $325. There are tons of models and fabrics/leather to choose from. They even have a black watch fabric so I can get a pair of black watch shoes finally. Thinking hard about these.
Edit: I don’t know all the passwords. The password for Noble Custom is noblecustom.
Edit: No one is paying me to promote these shoes. I just think they are awesome and would like to own a pair of black watch shoes. I’ve been hard pressed to find a pair elsewear.
I do enjoy a good suede shoe. Jack Erwin just dropped some handsome pairs. Most of my suede shoes are of the lighter brown variety. I wouldn’t mind dipping into some of this chocolate. The last on these may be a bit too pointy for my taste, but the price point looks very respectable. The lack of stitching along the sides of the eyelets on the oxfords makes them look incomplete to me. The jodhpurs and monks are money though. Options open.
This Just In: Socks and Shoes
Beams Plus Black Watch Socks: $20 @ Mr. Porter
Allen Edmonds Tassel Loafers: $40 @ eBay
I own a pair of Black Watch socks from Polo, but they are very thin and silky. The pattern is also not very clear. These new ones are the bees knees. Thicker and the pattern is highly visible. And the price is spot on.
I have a hard time finding loafers that fit me well. I sold several ill-fitting pairs this summer. I was reluctant to give these a try, but I’m glad I did. This is also my first pair of burgundy shoes. I’m loving the color so far.
